Registered Peruvian Paso that I adopted out to my daughter DeAnne. Sole was unfortunate to get the very painful disease DSLD or Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Desmitis leaving her lame in both rear legs. There is no cure. Only pain control. Beautiful roan with a beautiful honor and esteem who knew exactly who her mom was.

To my baby girl,
ReplyDeleteYou will be greatly missed. You were my heart and soul. You gave me the best rides, both good and bad. But, I always understood when you were not feeling well. As I understand it, you were as confused as some of the other horses during the fire. Just know that everything was done to get you and your baby out! Unfortunately, the best caretakers around just couldn't get to everyone. I know you are enjoying the greener grasses on the other side. Love ya girl! Mom (DeAnne)
Did you not know that carrying a foal was the worst and most painful thing to do to her? She should not have been ridden or bred to carry that weight. I should have put her down when she was diagnosed! Am glad she is out of her misery and hopefully you can live with yourself. I was her former owner. She came from Colorado and had a daughter named Sassy Sally. She was an excellent trail horse. But I refused to torture her any longer and was assured she would not be bred when I gave her to a rescue. I have no idea how you got her. She deserved better.
