This is a picture of Vegas when he was a foal. He got his name when his Thoroughbred mom was dropped off here, 30+ yrs old, 9 months pregnant, at least 250 lbs underweight, full of parasites, and covered with rainrot. The vet did not give mom or baby much chance of living through foaling. Well, they both did, but his but passed 2 weeks later leaving him an orphan. He was very, very ill - needing 2 plasma transfusions and lots of medicine. He was raised by one of my QH mares who took him on and nursed him. We named him Vegas because he beat all odds. He made it. He was adopted by my barn manager. He was 2 years old when he passed.
